I submitted to Budget and Finance (wife) almost a year ago:notamused: that I needed, okay wanted, a new bike. I have a Specialized Sirrus and I have put 2000+ miles on it the last few years. I just cannot keep up with the guys on event rides though. So, I have been waiting and finally I now have a Specialized Roubaix Elite to go along with it. I have only rode it once and can already see I will love this bike. Some of the streets to work are rough asphalt. The Roubaix dampens the road noise better than the Sirrus and I have 23's on the Roubaix and 35's on the Sirrus. I am keeping my Sirrus for commuter/camping/family rides but I really like the new one.

That's a purty, purty bike!

I'd love a road bike but I have to wait until a certain person in the family gets a bike for himself (after much nagging from me). Until this happens (and odds are excellent I'll bump into a dinosaur on the freeway first) I can't get a new bike.

So I am happy your financial negotiations went your way.

Ride like the wind!

Sweet bike. I was longingly looking at a Roubaix in the window of my LBS like 30 minutes ago. Enjoy it and be sure to reward the B&F department:)

Nice bike, I'm in the process of ordering a Trek 1.9 to keep my CX bike company.

Thanks,

I have probably spent the same amount for B&F on starbucks over the last year. But, she's worth it. When I loose 25lbs, she will go on a week trip along the Katy Trail. It's given me some insentive now. She is scared of bikes. She thinks she will just fall down for now reason. I am trying to get her over it.

I looked at Trek and liked them a lot. A friend of the Family is a Specialized dealer so I got a good deal.

I hope you like yours as well as I like mine. I bought the Specialized Roubaix Elite Compact about 18 months ago and love riding it as much as I can.

Specialized Rocks!!! I picked up a 2008 Tarmac Expert last Feb. I absolutely love this bike. I wish mine had come in red like that Roubaix though.
