Road Bike Racing - Who makes Zabel's bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone know who makes Zabel's custom T-Mobile Giant?
Rebellin rode Wilier when they were sponsored by Klien. Guess what Gerolstiener rides now? ;)
Erik Zabel's new Pinarello Dogma
Cyclingnews was lurking around the Team Telekom truck on the Friday before Milano-San Remo, hoping to catch a glimpse of Erik Zabel's new Pinarello Dogma. Thanks to photographer Roberto Bettini, we managed to get a few pictures of Zabel's new Pinarello and a few words from the 4 times winner of La Classicissima.
After a quick training spin north of Milano on his new Dogma, Zabel reported to Cyclingnews that "The Dogma is perfect for me, it's simply the best frame I've ridden! Really, the Dogma is an ideal mix between lightness, rigidity and comfort."
Zabel's Dogma for Milano-San Remo is made entirely from Deda magnesium AK61 tubes and the unique carbon fibre Onda front fork, the new Pinarello Full Carbon crankset and Dogma carbon stem. Team Telekom uses Campagnolo derailleurs and wheels and Zabel chose Campagnolo Hyperon wheels mounted with Continental tubulars in his quest for a 5th win at Milano-San Remo.

Google search took maybe 5 seconds.
umm. not anymore. t-mobile rides Giant for 2004.
as to who really made the bike Zabel is riding this year, i dunno. could be some prototype Giant, could be something else. i'd wager it's not a rebadged pinarello.

The caption explains it pretty well, a custom aluminum giant.
Edit: And just an interesting note about Rebelin and Wilier, he actually rides a Scott:D

things aren't always what they seem.

Well smart ass the Giant website says he rides a TCR.

Unless someone else besides Giant builds thier TCR's which would make no sense, I would stick with that.

Hmm, Giant sponsors T-Mobile so they would be glad to admit Zabel's TCR isn't a real TCR.
Once had custom TCR's built in Spain so why can't Zabel's be something else? Is that SO difficult to believe? Is Rebellin the only pro riding whatever he pleases? Oh oops, don't forget Tyler Hamilton's LOOK badged Cervelo or LOOK badged Parlee, oops or Armstrong's old Litespeed or back when Zulle had the Peugeot badged Litespeed or man, I'm just asking what custom builder did Zabel's bike!
How am I being a "smart ass" when your "Google search took maybe 5 seconds." comment made you look like the "smart ass"?
BigFloppyLlama,
Well there you have it, from Wilier when he was sponsored by Klein to a Scott now that he is sponsored by Wilier!

is it so hard to believe that giant, the world's largest bicycle frame maker, with a ,assive r&d department could one-off a bike for zabel? in fact, everything about that frame, from the straight fork to the sloping top tube, looks like a giant.

Funny this thread is already going...I was headed her for speculation on this statement (itals) in a Cervelo press release yesterday
http://www.bikebiz.co.uk/daily-news/article.php?id=4091
Cervélo Cycles seeks international distributors
"If you are interested in selling the bike that dominated the 2003 Tour de France, we want to hear from you," said Sam Monardo, general manager of the Canadian TT, tri and road-bike brand. Cervelo of Toronto is seeking distributors in the UK, South Africa, Denmark and Italy.
Monardo said Cervélo wants to link up with established distributors with existing dealer networks.
The company was founded in 1995 by engineers Phil White and Gérard Vroomen. Cervélo has always been a time trial bike specialist, with its bikes often rebadged and painted by pro teams sponsored by other bicycle manufacturers.
"{The] biggest story in road for [us] may have been a certain somebody riding a certain Cervélo disguised as a certain something else in a certain French race," says Cervelo.com.
In 2003, Team CSC were equipped with Cervélo bikes, and Tyler Hamilton rode a Soloist to victory in that year's Liege-Bastogne-Liege, as well going through the pain barrier to finish the Tour de France with a cracked clavicle, a feat that will see the Cervélo name up in lights in the forthcoming large-format film, 'Brainpower'.
This is a 40-minute IMAX movie, the large-format film that has to be screened in format-specific cinemas.

And yet isn't it funny that the guy with the sig "We must obey God and not men" is the one that starts out with personal attacks and keeps them going.
Meanwhile, as someone else stated the same thing BEFORE I did, and I didn't even attack you who was the one starting with the personal attack comments?
Back to the topic at hand,
I didn't think it was a Giant because of the welds and bb area design. Usually when a rider skips a carbon bike and goes for aluminum, it is because it is a one-off custom builder's ride. Not saying it isn't a Giant but just asking if anyone knows what it is for sure.

It does appear to have tubes similar to those used on the TCR series. The seat tube has that little cutout so the tire doesn't hit the frame. I'm going to go with the idea that Giant built him a custom one just because there are so many similarites in the tubes and build.
