Texas - Dallas cyclists (Lakewood and WRL) I need your help to find a lost pooch!

Hi gang! I am trying to help out a friend who lost her Greyhound on Friday. The gardners left the gate open and he decided to venture out. She rescued him from GALT (Greyhound Adoption League of Texas) and has everyone but the National Guard out looking for him. She has even hired the "Dog-gone Detective Agency" who uses labs to sniff him out. I didn't even know there was such a thing! After 7 hours on Saturday and 5 hours yesterday, he's still missing. He has been spotted over at the White Rock Lake area, and has been tracked heading north back towards Mockingbird and Matilda where his home is. He answers to the name "Rockin" and is a very sweet dog but is a little skiddish of kids.
I got to thinking that as cyclists we cover quite a bit of ground, so if you're a roadie, commuter, or mountain biker, keep an eye out could you? If you see him, please call GALT immediately (972-503-GALT) and keep an eye on him if you can. He was a racing dog so he can move!
Thank you!
I wish your friend luck in finding her dog.I hang out on White Rock Lake on most weekends and work near the area. I'll keep an eye out for a loose greyhound. Any description on Rockin' such as color of collar or markings on him? Is he solid colored, or that brindle?
Please tell your friend to check the city animal shelter everyday. It's at 1818 N. Westmoreland, just abit North of I-30 in West Dallas. They have a number to call to see if her dog has been impunded that day, 214-671-0315. That hotline may not always be helpful because it only lists the dogs picked up at the end of THAT day. If your friend's dog was picked up before, he won't be on today's list so go down and look at all the lost dogs.
Good luck and I'll keep an eye out.:)

I live, work and ride near WL, and I'll look for that dog. I have two dogs of my own, and would be heart-broken to lose them.
I hope that the dog turns up ok.

Thank you for keeping an eye out! He is actually fawn (kind of a tan color) with a white muzzle. I will try to attach a photo of him.

I doubt there's that many greyhounds running loose out there- shouldn't be hard to pick it out if anyone sees it.

He escaped wearing a muzzle?
Muzzle = nose/snout/mouth, from an anatomical point of view. It does also mean the gadget that overs a dog's muzzle area.

Sad. I was at the lake Saturday and saw a sign up and I also saw a couple with a couple of greyhounds. Maybe your friends? :(

I am happy to report that Wednesday morning Rockin was found and is now back home! Somehow he ended up in Sherman, TX and the local shelter called the rescue society. He's a little skinnier, but doing fine. Thank you to everyone for keeping an eye out for him!

Wow! Gone more than a month and found 60 miles away. That's quite impressive!
I'm really glad he's home!
That's good to hear that he's back home. He sure did cover some ground!
