I'm really hating this job and with the atmosphere and all the people laid off, I don't dare try to find another.

I'm sorry you aren't happy at your job. It makes me sad to hear when people don't like what they do. I love my job. Teaching is what I have always wanted to do. We should all love what we do.

Blah, writing research papers for me here. I seriously hate writing about topics I am not interested in and it's very nearly killing my research drive. :( I can't wait to GTFO of undergrad and go off to grad school where I can do the research *I* want to do and hopefully rediscover my love of research.

The good news is that the day is over but the bad news is that you have to do it again tomorrow

Ms. MillCreek has been working on report cards for the past two weeks, and this week is for parent-teacher conferences. I have the wine poured for her when she gets home. She'll need it.

Pretty good, just had a two hour long discussion with someone on the constraints on a covariance matrix based on model dynamics. Before that I was lazily programming along. I love programming and I love kicking the ***** out of MIT post-docs :D....Especially when they majored in my field :p

Other than that...nothing special.

And unless you have a very, very obscure interest, most things are publishable, some just need more work than others. The eternal example here is mathematics vs. psycho-zoology. In maths, you need to be a freaking genius to publish...in psycho zoology....well, I am fairly certain they train those monkeys to write their papers for them (In some fields, these monkeys are referred to as "grad-students"). ;)
