My wife cooked up some awesome garlic and beer brats last night. They were served, of course, with lots of fresh kraut and some Dijon mustard. So good I had 4. Really, really good. :thumb:

Not so good this morning. All the way in I was tasting them over and over and over again. Burp, chew, pedal. Burp, chew, pedal. All the way to work. Man, the things we do to ourselves. :twitchy:

Look at it this way. You enjoyed the ride "twice as much". You got to ride (that's enjoyable) and you tasted the excellent food again (that too may have been enjoyable ).

Yeah, at our age you'd think we'd know better.

First, let me tell you that I succomb to the very same sweet mosaic of earthly delights: wife, garlic, brats, mustard, cycling. Still, there should be a word that conveys the poignant intersection of sad experience, known risk, and the metaphysical certainty of discomfort in the saddle. Sad really when you'd think we'd know better. Of such imponderables is a life made.
