Good to see a nice outcome. I don't suppose original author is Dr. McDreamy.

Ouch! Paintballs can really hurt, especially if there is only a thin layer of lycra between you and the projectile. Last time I went paintballing my body looked like I had a bad bout of bubonic plague. Loads of white circles with a deep red outer ring that eventually turned into technicolor shades of black and purple as the week went on. Thats what you get when you go paintballing with a load of Para's.
I am glad they caught the perps.

I grew up in/around Livermore. When I was 8, we moved out to Mines Road, about a quarter mile before the Del Valle split and just after the bridge from which you can see that junction. I lived there until heading off to college. Having gotten into riding as a teen and doing a lot of rides on Mines Road, I can't say I am surprised that it was the scene of this contretemps.

Between the cowboys (literally cowboys) who live further out Mines and the various stripes of humanity that use Del Valle Park, you are more likely to encounter the occasional idiot (and I emphasize occasional - most folks are pretty reasonable) on that road than most others on the area. Worse, though, are the drunken fools coming back to town at the end of a summer weekend, especially July 4th and Labor Day. When my folks lived there, we averaged about a wreck a year from DUI's coming back to town and missing the S-curve at the bridge (it used to be tighter than in is now, and was sharper than it looked). Inevitably, it was late afternoon or early evening on a Sunday or holiday Monday.

Something about the country that turns some people into flaming morons.

I rode a nice loop from Walnut Creek, around Livermore, and then back today. Normally I'll ride around the east bay hills around Berkeley but I love exploring new areas. I made it to Danville before 3 dudes in a diesel truck honked and flipped me off. Caught up to them at a light, guess they were feeling shy and didn't want to chit chat.

I blame boredom.
