picked this up at the local CL, would it be better to sell it complete or part it out, what would be a good price for it? It's a Superbe "Performance" frame(tange 1) complete superbe pro group. Just needs a good cleaning/tune up and some new tires.

It depends on how much you paid for the bike. The superbe pro group is very desirable. Check out e-bay completed auctions (brakes, crankset, wheels in clean, good condition do well). I've been buying a bunch of suntour superbe items (not pro) and have been really pleased. The headset is not valuable. The cinelli seat is a seller among the fixie crowd. I am not sure about the frame.

Again without knowing the price on complete bike versus part it out scenario - it's hard to answer your question. Hopefully this helps...

+1 More work but also more money if you part it out unfortunately. Superbe Pro stuff is pretty nice. I bought a bike last year off Craigs List solely for the Superbe Pro hubs it had.

This bike whole once cleaned up (spotless) and ready to ride would be worth $200 to $225, maybe a tad more if you are in one of the hot bicycle markets. Hard to get above this mark without indexed shifters. $300 plus is reserved for truly collectable bikes or more modern bikes with brifters.

Do a search on Superbe Pro on ebay and you will see some of the values.

What is the brand on the stem, seat post and handlebars?

+1, and it's worth more parted out. Why?

Nice frame, group is in more demand, and would be killer with STI shifters, BUT.....
....if it's got a Suntour freewheel, it will not work with STI's due to spacing issues.

$200-$225 on this side of the state, but parted out, $100 for the frame, $175-$200 for the group, including the wheels. Go local to CL, and advertise the Superbe Pro group, with freewheel, for $250, and negotiate down if you need to.

Do what you want with the frame, it's a good one, but the group is generally what will get you the most annoying questions and calls.

I'd pay $350 for that, no problem. What size is it exactly? Looks 55-57cm

That saddle could fetch near $100 if sold right. White turbos go for that much on ebay, a white cinelli should be on up there too.

Looks like you've stumbled upon the great secret here, but, in this case at least, I think you're not going to find a buyer that's even close to interested in that bike at $800. True you've found an auction that suggests you might but #1: That bike's in better shape than your's and #2, the seller of the Ebay bike is on the passing end of a 'Hail Mary' and he's never going to get that money either.

In all frank honesty, your bike is worth around $550-$600 in absolutely perfect shape with a Performance tag still hanging from it. Maybe $650-$700 if it were still boxed OEM. A real world used price in the $300-400 range is all you can reasonably expect from it if sold whole. You'll do a bit better than that parted out, but the level of involvement required of you might make the extra money you'd get not worth the headache. Especially if you don't know how to get the bike into pieces whilst keeping it in its current condition.

Doesn't matter what he is asking, wait til it sells. There's a guy asking $1300 for a 1970s Schwinn Supersport on ebay too. Meaningless as to value until he gets his price.

FWIW: The one on ebay is super clean, not worth $800, but well presented for sure.
