Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I know this question may be asked before me, but their fit might not be my fit. I want to be able to ride around on a good cheap frame and also i am kinda interested in the ability of my bike to barspin. I might want to get a blank frame from bikeisland.com but it looks like its a lot more expensive than starting with a complete bike. Can someone help me pick which bike to get. Sorry about the noob question.

:roflmao2: so you cant barspin the hour w/ a regular 700c? does the mtb wheel noticeably slow you down or negatively affect handling?
Nope, it just barrrrely hits a 700x23, i mean barely, if you push hard enough it goes around, but it rubs. Honestly man, i've been riding a fixed gear for barely a couple months now, comin from yeaaaars of bmx, and i dont feel i have enough expertise to be able to really tell the difference, all i noticed was that i leaned forward more (which is an obvious result of a smaller front wheel.) As far as handling and speed, i really havent noticed a huge difference, maybe a little slower, but handling is fine..

I don't think so... becuase then you'd just end up with a frame that doesn't fit you, with a 26 inch wheel in the front. You are still going to be leaning forward because the front is going to be lower, regardless of frame size.

BMX stands bicycle motocross. BMX bikes were originally designed for racing around a dirt track. Not doing tricks. So, by your standards, a BMX bike isn't right for the job either. Let people have whatever fun they want to have on their bikes.

Anyone know what front wheel he's using?
It's just the wheel from my moms 15 year old mountain bike.

There are different types of BMX bikes, not all are built for dirt track racing. What would you say is the racing function of freecoaster hubs that allow the bike to roll backwards and axle pegs?

The OP wants to do barspinz not reverse circles.
