That is stunning. I'd love to own a Nobilette at some point (though I'd really prefer it to be badged as a Nobilette rather than a "Rene Herse"--seems more in keeping with truth-in-advertising).

There's nothing "untruthful" about it, IMO: a Rene Herse built by Nobilette and a Nobilette are not just two different names for the same thing. If you get a Herse, you're getting - at least to a significant degree - Mike Kone's vision of a Rene Herse (and very extensive knoweldge of and appreciation for same) with Nobilette's (very fine) execution. If you get a Nobilette, you're getting Mark's vision and/or your own, with Nobilette's (very fine) execution. Mr. Herse didn't build all those pre-Kone Herses, either.

And don't forget that Mike Kone got rights to use the René Herse name from Herse's family. That also adds some legitimacy, IMO.

Call me crazy but I would rather have a 2009 built for me than an original that fit me. AND I'd request a 1-1/8" threadless headtube!:eek:
