Classic & Vintage - Lamborghini !!!!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This one deserves its own thread versus the CL find thread....
$7000!!!
DISCLAIMER: This isnt my bike nor do I have any connections with the seller.
Oh, yes, Lamborghini even built bicycles at a time. On the 1979 Frankfurt Motor Show, Automobili Lamborghini SpA unveiled a rather special bicycle, it wasn't built in Italy, but in Germany by Lamborghini Bike International. This two-wheeler was very well built, using Titanium wherever possible, combined with expensive Magnesium and Polyester, all this added up to a weight of only 6.5 Kg. The Lamborghini bicycle was built on special order only, at a cost of 7,000 DM at the time, but the production run was to be limited at only 500 units.
Before the bicycle was delivered, the actual customer's name was engraved into the frame.

Kind of cruddy pictures, bars set at a goofy angle, seat lug joinery that makes a Next aluminum bead look like a work of art, a tin can under the pedal to prop it up... yep. Makes me wanna raid the 401K account to fly down there and pluck it right up.
Not saying it isn't legit, but what I see hasn't convinced me.

The images were apparently jacked from a Lamborghini enthusiast webstie. I going to delete the link and flag the CL posting...looks a scam although the bike appears to be legit.

How much for the plant in the corner? BTW, what part of the bike is polyester?

Not in the same league with a Mercielago or a Gallardo.

A long time ago, my father went to the local Lambo dealer to look at the new Muira, the dealer only had a lime green one in stock, my father went for a test drive and almost bought one, he was a bit concerned as the transaxle oil was common with the engine, (a reasonable worry) and he would not be able to fit a 30" x 40" board into it. But he did measure behind the seats to see what would fit against the bulkhead.
Back then, $17,000 new.

i haul yard waste with mine. no problem with capacity...it's bigger than it looks back there!

I calculated the 1979 rate for the DM and came up with a rough US dollar value of $3,800. Then I fed that thru a basic inflation index and came up with $12,300.
So $7,000 is a bargain right? right? :D

Same Campagnolo!!! They made high end car wheels for a long time.
That's an awesome tidbit. I sat in a miura once and the steering wheel hurt my crotch. Very cool

The Miura is one of the coolest looking cars ever, IMO.
'All madness, color and flamboyance' as the boys from TopGear would say.

I think your kidding but just in case.....No.
Ferrari and Colnago have a relationship for years. As one of the worlds leading carbon fiber manufacturing companies it wouldnt surpise me if Ferrari did most of the CF R&D for the bikes.
