Hello,

Looking at this bike. Schwinn Paramount, owner says it is a mid 70's, but it looks like mid 80's to me. Very eclectic mixture, but the bike itself seems in wonderful condition.

araya aero rims, campagnola tube shifters, cyclone short reach brakes, suntour 6 speed cassette, Gipiemme simplex rear derailluer, Suntour front derailluer, Vetta seat, Suntour cranks and chain rings, cinelli bars, shimano 105 headset, look pedals. Frame is Reynolds.

anything I should know about this bike? Any reasons not to buy it? Thanks!

If the price is right and it fits, go for it.

Mid to late eighties decals which probably means it's either SLX or a mix of SL and SP. I have an '87, and love it.

Try to get a serial number (bottom of BB shell).

If it does not sell this week, I should be looking at it this weekend. Will get back on that.

Anything below $500 for that is a great deal. The mish-mash of parts say to me that it was bought as a frame and a budget build was made, which doesn't do for great resale. If the paint is in good shape, the bike is worth in the $600-700 range.

Without more specifics on the components it hard to say what a 'good' price is.

The cranks have drilled spider arms which indicate an entry level Suntour crank, American Classic seatpost.

The value of that bike is all in the frameset. Figure somewhere in the $250-400 for the frameset plus whatever the components add to it.

If I were buying that as an 'end user' I'd strip all the components off of it, sell them on ebay or wherever and build it up with a nice mid to high end group.

Shimano 600, Dura Ace or Ultegra
Suntour Sprint or Superbe
Campy Record, Chorus, Athena (not nuovo record...to old looking on a modern frame)
