Classic & Vintage - On it's way, and I can't wait!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Will be here Friday, and I am SO stoked! :thumb:

I've been jonesing for some old school Italian steel since I foolishly sold my Pinarello. :notamused:
Wouldn't be my first color choice, but very classy!

My Pinarello back in 1985:
The white w/blue/yellow/red was big stuff - same color as Alexi Grewal's '84 Olympic-win machine. Basso copied the scheme as well.

I got mine from the same shop that supplied his: Denver Spoke.
I should have never sold that bike. I tried to buy it back, but the guy I sold it to sold it to someone in LA and never did know the guys name. So it's gone for good, I think. Oh well, the Basso will be a great replacement!

Wow, you could afford a Pinarello back in '85?? :D
All I could afford in 1982 was a Sears 'Free Spirit' (real 10-speed).
Think I paid $150 for it, new. Took my whole paycheck and made me broke, but I was happy. :D
Nice Basso btw. Love the color scheme.

That's better than I could do in '82...I wasn't even conceived yet.

I LOVE the paint scheme on both! Red, white, and blue, with chrome headtube lugs? Absolutely hedonistic!

Oh Jeeeeez...
I got married in 1982...

It took a lot of work and several paychecks to do it, but yes... :o

Basso called that paint scheme: "Americana"
My old Pinarello was the "Arco LA84" paint scheme. Had slightly aero down tube and seat tube.
Nice, man - is that a Gap model?

I'm 90+% sure. All the Loto's that I've seen have a different seatpost binder bolt setup.

I did the same, have the same feeling. And a Kestrel didn't exactly make it go away...:notamused:

I tried to buy mine back, too, but it's hanging on a collector's wall in Chicago. I console myself by admitting that he won't ride it, so he won't wreck it. I'm sure I'd have fallen over a couple of times by now.
Killer Basso.

It's now Friday in Australia, Asia and Europe.
Tomorrow, tomorrow... Hopefully it arrives before I go to work, otherwise I'll get it on Saturday.

It's now Friday in Australia, Asia and Europe. The first day of spring. :)
On the truck, out for delivery...
I am giddy now.
Beautiful bike and I very much like that paint scheme. It has all of the flash of Technicolor cycling. There was a Look that was recently posted here that was similar and here is my Tommaso.

Yes but I'm just kidding.

Good thing. I've NEVER been mistaken for a model of any sort. I'd like to keep that record in tact! :thumb:
