That is so stupid of him...he was one of my heroes back in the day. I remember him pulling high speed manuals across the dh finish at Mt. Snow in the early nineties, before hardly anyone in mountain biking even knew what that was.

Being a big rider I still like to watch him. I can't say much for the law, I do live in bc, so my opinion is vastly different then most americans in the case of pot laws.

Aren't people supposed to grow pot. If they don't, they're just buying it from the terrorists. At least that's what the partnership for a drug free america would have you think.

Meh, pot isn't nearly as bad as the government would like you to think it to be. I don't see how it's really any more destructive than alcohol or tobacco. Seems rather inconsistent for our government, but that's the breaks. If you don't like it I suppose you could move to Canada. Actually I had no idea so many mountain bikers smoked pot until fairly recently. I've found pipes and all sorts of paraphernalia on the trail. In fact 2 weeks ago I came across 2 riders openly smoking on the trailside. It doesn't really seem like a wise idea to me to be stoned while you're flying down the mountainside, but to each his own I suppose.

Confession Time:

I always have at least 2-4 beers before my rides. It's been this way for the last 5 years..... It kills my energy level, but I can actually make it thru/over stuff that I can't otherwise. It gives me the peace of mind I need, and helps relieve the stress of my daily grind.... I wish I didn't do it though actually, but now it seems that it's a habit.

Like I stated before, it really does affect your strength level, but the other "benefits" are addictive. I'm not racing anymore anyways.... :)

PS. I don't smoke pot, but some of my friends do....
