Well,
Got a little trigger happy on this one.

I was looking for a bike to keep in Florida when vacationing (a couple times a year). I found this C. Itoh on ebay, thought it looked clean (interesting as well), put a bid, left it, and found out the next day I won. I researched prior to buying, and I know Sheldon called them crummy, but this bike looked nice and pretty clean. Any thoughts, opinions. Constructive critism is welcomed. Of course the day after I buy this , this comes up 5 miles from my house (I am so proud of myself showing control on this one).

Well... If you're going to get good use out of it... Might not be too bad for riding on bad pavement and in bad neighborhoods. Besides, it will help you appreciate any other bikes that you have. :D

C. Itoh was like the Roadmaster of 70s campus 10-speeds. The Motobecane looks bent, among other things--good call.

Good old bikes are available but patience and discernment are necessary so you will have enough money left to buy one when it finally appears.

One person calls it crummy and its true? Cīmon! If you like, buy it it, ride it and it might be just as true you will have the last laugh! Whoever Sheldon was, he didnt fit every bike. And gruppos can be changed.

Whoever Sheldon was, he didnt fit every bike.

That probaby warrants some comment...Sheldon was like the Godfather of everything "bikes." I would imagine if he said it was crummy he was probably referring to the materials, craftsmanship, etc, more than just fit. That being said, you're right, everyone has different preferences and components could be changed to make it a more pleasant ride.

The paint looks great, fun decals and it's blue. And cheap! Put some yellow tape and cables on it and turn it into a singlespeed, and it would make a really fun beater. That's what I would do, anyway.
