Classic & Vintage - Can someone tell me what this bracket is on the fork....?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying the bike below but I'm a bit confused by the brazed on bracket jutting out of the fork....Does anybody have any ideas? Thus far I have found nothing online.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Im going to guess...a light mount? Id use it for a water bottle, but thats just me.

That bracket is probably for a light to clamp onto.

Seriously though.....Buy a cheap replacement fork if you don't like the generator mount.

It would be easier, and less disruptive of the inter-stellar continuum, and cheaper to boot, to sell this to somebody who want this feature (and they are out there, cowering in the shadows) and then take the proffered frn's and exchange them for a frameset without this feature. Otherwise, you would be upsetting the universal ratio of forks with dynamo mounts to those without, something not to be trifled with.

In other words dude, drop the dremel tool, take three steps back, .... Nobody wants any trouble here.

Whoa people! Everyone needs to relax! I thought it might be a decent frame for a fixie. I just didnt want that huge chunk of metal hanging off of the front. Besides dudes, I wouldn't do it myself....

You have a much better than average vintage Bottecchia touring frame in nice original condition, Pilgrim. As such it's a piece of cycling history. Think of it as chopping an Aston Martin DB4 into a low rider.

If it bothers you, put a Knog Frog on it.

Whatever.

Stick a bottle generator on it and ride your fixie at night. ;)
