I don't know what year it is, and it's a little rough although still fixable. The guy says make him a fair offer, but I don't want to offend him. What is this bike worth? I'll most likely fix it myself, then sell it. I think I've got most of the parts it needs.

Hard to tell much from those pics, but I'm in the $25 area and no more than $50.

I was thinking $40 since I have a set of wheels that should fit right on. Here's some more pics. I might keep the bike for now since I don't have any Italian made bikes.

Looks like a $10 bike to me. Very few good parts on that bike. I have passed on similar condition and component models like this one at the $5 price point. I wouldn't worry about offending him.

And if you buy it, you will need to do all of the refurbishment work yourself. Bike finished and ready to ride might be worth $75 around here. If you have a shop rebuild it for you, you will quickly go through $200 on it.

I have a bunch of cheap parts laying around that would fit it. I figured I could take it in, give it a quick cheap paint job, slap whatever fits on it and call it good. Around here that would bring well over $75 if it looks flashy. There's plenty of people that have no clue how to spot good quality around here. They just want something cool looking. Original, the bike would be worth around $50 completely restored.

I asked if the seat tube was stuck. If it is, I'm not interested. Basically I could put about $50 worth of stuff on it(if that), plus I have some left over primer, red metallic paint, and clear coat from when I repainted my Explorer, so it's all basically free. Not exactly meant for bikes, but oh well. I think I could make a low profit on it, or I might just break even, but I could gain a little experience with painting in the process. That's the main thing I'm looking at. Invest $100, get $100(or even $90), be happy. I don't do this for a living so I don't have to make money at it. I do this for fun, so taking a small loss every now and then is ok with me if I have fun in the process.

I just got the bike today and decided to trash my previous plans. I pulled the campagnolo derailleurs and shifting levers for another bike. The rear wheel/hub/cassette will work nicely on another bike too. It's got a good set of weinmann brake levers that will probably come in handy at a later time. The round reflectors went on my Apex.

I ended up giving $50 for it, but the parts alone were worth that to me. I was worried all morning that I was going to rip myself off, but I didn't. Now I have a frame to do something with. It's not that heavy actually, so maybe it'll turn into a fixed gear, or maybe it will just go to the parts pile. Depends on how much time I get.
