The school crushes thread reminded that i came across an old end of year report card that spooked me out.
It was written when i was 7 and it pin pointed something about my character that took me well into adulthood to realise and i remembered how offended i was when i was 7. Were my flaws so obvious so early on? how accurate were your teachers?

I wish I had any old report cards to know....I'm sure they're loooong gone now.
My mom may have saved them, but she's gone and even if they did exist my dad would have NO idea where.
I do remember often being pegged in grade school for not respecting authority.

I'm sure my mom has an archive.
I recall them often saying "talks during class". excessive chatter has followed me into adulthood as well :D

LOL....I had a simialr experience with my 6th grade teacher. Ms. Hare was young, dirty blond and freckled.....looking back, probably fresh out of college. I thought she was so pretty and I had a big crush on her until the day she got mad at me and send a 3 page (from yellow legal pad) letter home to my parents to be signed and returned.
She also ticked me off later when I had her for math. We just started moving classes then for math and english (regular, advanced, below average). I was in regular math and she decided to give us a really hard (2 questions on area/perimeter type stuff) quiz to see if anybody should be in the advanced math class. In the whole class, everybody but 2 people got both questions wrong. A boy named Seth (teacher's pet) got 1 of the 2 questions right. I got both of them right. Guess who gets to move to the advanced math class? Yep.....Seth does.

and that still hurts doesn't it? would you like to talk about it or would a big hetero hug suffice?

Everything they said in grade school about me was pretty much spot on.
Doesn't pay attention
Problem with authority
can accomplish alot when he puts his mind to it, which is never
excels at gym and art..nothing else
I don't have any old report cards that I know of, but a few years ago, I found some books that my mom had written in after I was born. She didn't keep up with it for very long, but just long enough to pen one of my favorite things I've ever read about me. One day when I was about 7 1/2 months old, she wrote in her immaculate Catholic-school-learnt handwriting:
"He seems to not give a s*** about anything."

Dead on, and it's genetic too my 7 yr old son is walking in my footsteps.
Mine had 'self discipline' as a gradable category, it's escaping me at the moment what kind of PC phrase they call it on my son's report card.

Incorrect.
And I wasn't talking about high school.

my mom probably has them somewhere. She did, however, give me a story i wrote in 4th grade? it would not be a good indicator of my current job. The illustrations were badass though.

Here's one teacher's perspective. Whenever I get a report about a child who is "controlling and manipulative," my comment is, "He/she will probably make a good teacher someday." ...I've only run across a couple of other teachers who see the truth and humor in that statement.
...Mine probably said, "has issues with authority."

Well, that kind of thing s***s! People don't forget these things easily. I've still got a few grudges against a couple of egotistical idiots who looked for arbitrary reasons to lower my grades. Does it matter now? Of course not. Were they wrong? Ye-us!
