Ok I hate to start another what pedal should I buy thread but, well here it is. What pedal should I buy?

A while back I decieded to upgrade from Mountain shoes and pedals to a real road shoe and pedal. I got the PD-6000 Ultegra SPD-R pedal and as far as I can tell it really sucks. Hard to clip in and out of, hard to find a comfortable position, it is causing a whole lot of pain in the outside of my foot. I read the post about how people have unlevel feet and decieded to look into some lewedges, but I guess you can't get them for SPD-R.

I thought about trying to somehow space the cleat away from the shoe on the left side but I am not sure if that is possible.

I am thinking about just buying some new pedals. And money is a huge object.

Thinking about
Look PP206?
Speedplay X2s

There are wedges that will fit under just about any cleat.

I use MTB shoes, so I guess my vote dosen't really count. But, I am using SpeedPlay Frogs and love them.

I would recommend you get Speedplay, but pedals are like religion... every one has his favorite.. what ever you choose, I suggest you go get fitted, you may need shims or some adjustments to your position and or cleats...

I had almost the exact same issues with my SPD pedals. After some research I got the Speedplay X3's and so far my feet feel much better. I think the "unlimited" float has a huge impact, my foot is free to rotate wherever it needs to over the entire pedal stroke. The X3's are around $100, they're not cheap but I'll trade that for feet that don't hurt anyday :D

Should have kept your MTB shoes and bought some ATACs :D

I went from an SPD pedal to a Wellgo made Look knockoff, the R3.

Bigger platform, solid pedal. No problems.
