Foo - Best University for Engineering (Canadian)?

What's your opinion, knowing what you know?

Of the ones listed... that is.

University of Waterloo,
University of Toronto,
Queen's University

+2 Great rep and great Co-op program.

(and you can always go down the street to pick up the Laurier ladies)

Of the ones you listed: Waterloo for practical experience that the co-op program gives. Toronto for the more theoretical education (if you're looking to go PhD route).

Consider McGill, if you're willing to look outside Ontario. I got my MechEng (honours) there in 93 and it was a great education that was a good balance of practical/theoretical. Honours program puts you in the lab for your last year to do some pretty significant practical research in order to write up your thesis. Two out of three of us that graduated from the honours program that year went straight into the workforce after graduating and we bought still thought that the program was worth it. The third guy went on to get a PhD from Cambridge so at least one of us followed the normal path :D

What about UBC? I've heard they have a good engineering program...

if you are considering anything in petroleum or carbon capture, check regina out. They are getting bucket loads of money from the government for research at their CO2 capture facility.

other than that, their other programs are mediocre.

I mentioned these school because these are the ones I applied to.

I got early acceptance at Waterloo and U of T (yay!), still waiting to hear back from Queen's.

We hire quite a few Engineering Co-op students from Waterloo. For the most part, they are quite competent. Queens is supposed to be quite good as well.

I don't know the Canadian universities, and like any of them, it probably depends on what type of engineering you are going in to.

That being said, when I was in school for Computer Engineering I remember having lots of books that were from University of Waterloo. I thought to myself it must be a pretty good Computer Engineering school.

It's the main feeder University for RIM. It's got to be good.
