Fifty Plus (50+) - Contest--guess where this is and win socks and a Jimi wallet

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The first person who guesses where I took this picture during one of my bike tours gets a free pair of love2pedal socks (size med/lg) and a Jimi wallet.

I need the country and a general location within the country.

Good luck! Dan

If someone was to show me that picture and tell me it was Loch Ness in Scotland, I'ld believe them. I've never been there but that is how I've always imagined it looks.

Looks like parts of Yellowstone but the lake is wrong. Not eastern Nebraska, I'm pretty sure.:)

1st hint:

Not in the USA

Gosh, it could be anywhere but it does have an Ireland or Scotland appearance to it.

Not Ireland, not Scotland, not UK.

Another hint: That is not a lake you are looking at. It is the remnants of a collapsed volcano.

wild guess:

vesuvius, italy

dont think its fuji, or the three volcanoes near mexico city

Sorry, but not Italy.

Another hint.

No cyclist from this country has ever won the Tour de France, but a cyclist from this country was a teammate of Lance Armstrong at one point.

Come off it!!! you would never see that much green stuff with that much water at the same time in Florida.

Unless it is at your local park and paid for out of your tax returns.:innocent:

Other than the "Nessie" cracks, it must have been a fabulous and memorable trip.

It was! Rained every day, beautiful scenery, great people. Edinburgh is one of my favorite cities (though my kids accuse me of having lots of favorite cities).

We also had an audience with Scotland's most famous resident...

Larry,

I will make a donation of a dozen pair of socks to Big Brothers. They have a thrift store here they sell donations in to fund their programs. It will be in your name, anonymus.
