i am looking for some bike mechanic books, if anyone knows any good authors or books you have used, do you think you can send me names, so i can look them up on amazon or half.com? i probably going to start fixing bikes with some of the other guys on college campus for free and it would be nice to learn how to do wiring and other parts.

I really love the Chainbreaker book for beginning level cycling instruction, they're totally accessible to anyone but still cover a lot of different stuff. For what you're talking about as well it seems perfect because it has a bunch of DIY and bootleg fixes for when you don't have every single tool park has ever produced. It was put out by the wonderful folks at Plan B in New Orleans, so your money goes to a good cause, and there are also a ton of great articles from the original 'zine in the back of the book
