Road Cycling - question about bib shorts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. so do the "bib" part, or suspenders, of most bib shorts cover the wearer's nipples? my nipples get roughed up from my shirt, especially if i open the zipper more than a little. would the suspenders of bib shorts likely cover my nipples so they don't get rubbed raw?
is there any other solution for sore nipples? thanks.

They might but why not wear a form fitting base layer? That would take care of your problem and add some comfort to boot! Hot out? no problem, they make plenty of summer weight base tanks.
The suspender portion of the bibs is usually a mesh, depending on the brand. That will rub them like a cheese grater , find a pair with lycr straps or do what the marathoners do, band aids
Sometimes the bibs cover the nipples, sometimes they don't. It depends on your body. Also, sometimes the bibs help with rubbing, sometimes they create rubbing problems! It all depends on you.
Base layer is a good idea. However I have found some base layers actually cause nipple rubbing while I never experience the problem otherwise.
In my experience, the best base layers are made by DeFeet and Sockguy. They are super soft and wick sweat wonderfully.
Good luck!
Yes it's ridiculously stupid, BUT... ever tried putting a small bandaid over them? :)

you can also put some vaseline over your nipples to protect them. i never had the problem with bib short, but my nipples always get raw when i run more than 10k in cold weather.
