Bicycle Mechanics - Are Sachs freewheels Shimano compatible?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I am thinking about picking up an old Sachs 7 speed freewheel. It will be paired with an old Shimano 600 indexed shifting system.
I am just wondering if Sachs freewheel spacing is compatible with Shimano?
Thanks!!

I'm almost certian 7 speed Sachs, Campy, and Shimano are interchangable.
Suntour may be a bit different, and everything is interchangable with friction shifters.

definitively yes.
I used to train and race on the exact same setup you are suggesting. I even have a Fir Isidis tubular rim built up on a suntour superb pro cartridge bearing hub with a 7spd sachs freewheel on it that I am looking to get rid of. The freewheel has low mileage as the wheel has been hanging in my garage for quite a while. If interested let me know.
