Nice ride today. 55 miles with about 5500 ft of climbing. Felt much better today than lastweek. Pretty sure it has to do with a big breakfast. Buddy did the first 8 miles of climbing with me then split and went back down. Started cool and somewhat foggy. Then the sunshined thru in the higher elevations. Rode my 98 CAAD3 Cannondale. Gettin' it ready for the climbing century in June.

That's some great looking terrain! Sounds like a fun time. Wind and rain here. A strong wind in your face while struggling up a 16% grade isn't easy.

Oh yeah, nice turf here. The elements change so much on this ride. One second you are hot, take of the windbreaker. Next you're putting it back on. Upper elevations usually get cold so one must look for ice strips across the road. 3 iles later at the top, the sun is shining!...:D
On the first 8 miles it can be scary withthe crothcrockets all over the road. Not many on the upper miles. I did see one near the top of my climb. On the descent, maybe 15 minutes later I heard a big bang. WHt the hey!!!!!!. About 1/8 of the mile down the road, the guy is duting himself off. He was headed back up and dumped his mototcycle in the rocks. Bits and piece everywhere on the shoulder. Good thing it was against the mountainside and not the outteredge. He was ok!

thanks for sharing again. I like some of the scenery shots, I like how the road curves on up into the hill. But, I'm not sure how I would feel if I was riding it and having to constantly look at what I have left to ride.

Thanks!:thumb:....You know the climbing is only part of a climbing century. lots of mental games. I struggled on climbs until I learned to NOT guess what's ahead. Relax and just roll with it, you'd do great!:D

Nice ride - you always have nice pics. I'm beginning to think you hire a photog to follow you around :thumb:
BTW - I PM'd you a question.

Thanks for the pictures. I never carry a camera, because I don't have much to look at on my rides, unless you like to see corn and bean fields. I may ride yet today, deciding on whether or not to fight the wind.

The photographer just follows me around. He's doing a documentary on my life cause it's so interesting. SO all the photos are free!:roflmao2:
Gotcha on the PM!:thumb:

I look for stuff to shoot! If I were in your shoes, I'd post pics of the wind on my rides. Fields of grass/wheat/whatever blowing in the wind. SOme of the pics I've posted ahve been trees blowing in the wind. Someone always says wow way to capture the wind or somthing. Never win any photo contest (I woldn't enter, not my hobby) just like taking and posting the pics, but someone always seems entertained by one somewhere. I'm sure someone would like something about yours, even if it's Beanzfields!:D
Sometimes a pic can be a pian in the butt to take. FOr example, the pic "looking down the road" I posted. I saw it then decide that it would be a ncie shot. SO I stopped seconds after I see it. Traveling at 30 mph, that's quite a distance. I stop and it doesn't look the same so I have to climb back up 100 yards. not nice after I'm relaxed and on my way down. Ahhh the things we do for a good shot!:D

I will see if I can find my ancient digital camera that is small and doesn't hold many pictures. My current camera isn't worth taking with me.
