Electric Bikes - SLA Battery gauge

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I upgraded my old DiamondBack mountain bike to an electric bike with a 3V 500 A conversion kit from e-bikekit.com. It will become my commuter bike. I am looking for a battery gauge to monitor the power level. Please recommend a unit I can attach to my system. Thanks.

to have a gauge to monior the battery level exactly you need to know your battery's discharge data and curve, otherwise......

Have you looked at the eBikes.ca and their Cycle Analyst? It has most everything that you need. Instantaneous Watts, Amps, Volts, and speedo functions. Great device! The Cycle Analyst is the updated version of the original DrainBrain (discontinued because of a lawsuit!)

I use a multi-tester..to Check my battery Voltage Level..
===
When choosing a Battery Monitor..check about ..weither..
this Monitor can be a ALWAYS ON--type..some can not..they will break down..
===
If you should find a Monitor GUAGE--it may come with a Resistor..to detail the Voltage it must read-out..
Resitors on a Power Supply are hooked to the Ground Side(the Neg. Terminal)..creating the proper voltage-DROP..
===
I would suggest you just purchase a Multi-Tester..there-by gaining some versatility in the purchase..
Some only cost=$$9.00(USD)..I usually spend about $$30.00(USD)..
There are pocket models..and some large designs that can also be carried along--
You might be able to monitor your DRIVE..by leaving the TEST-Leads attached..
But not usually does one do that..
Basically..on a really good battery..checking your STANDING Performance..takes about a hour-of-monitoring..
The product SPEC Sheet should give you all the Info..needed..
