Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - My computer doesn't fit

I acquired a new (used) road bike from craigslist. I pulled the computer off of my other bike because I am mainly going to be riding this one. I went to mount the thing, and the sensor thingy didn't fit. The fork is too close to the spokes, so I couldn't fit the magnet and the sensor in there because there wasn't clearance when the wheel turned.

My question is, is there a computer whose sensor is small enough to mount on my bike, or am I just out of luck? (Or am I just mounting my existing one incorrectly?)

try a few different spots on the fork, some spots have more clearance than the rest.

The magnet is big enough that it almost hits the fork when the wheel rotates. It's hard for the sensor to fit in the remaining space. You mentioned turning the sensor outward. That looks like it might work. I tried that earlier, but it didn't detect. But just now I realized that the computer doesn't even work anymore. I noticed a cut in the wire, and it's only holding on by the insulation! That might be why I didn't have success. (very cheap computer, I'm not at a big loss here).

I guess I'll buy a new computer and see if angling the sensor works.

if you do get a new one, you might want one designed for the rear wheel since there's usually plenty of space to mount the sensor and magnet there.

A soldering iron might be cheaper and be useful in other circumstances and for elevating skills.

can't you mount the sensor and the magnet parallel to eachother? (the sensor on the side/left of the blade)

Please post a picture of the sensor. You should be able to twist the sensor on the fork so it moves away from the magnet then adjust the sensor so it is parallel again.

If it can't be adjusted then buy a Cateye. They can be adjusted. You can find a wireless for $30 on Ebay.
