Just stopping in and making my requisite introductory post. :thumb:

I'm getting back into cycling, and haven't really ridden in the past 8 years or so. Got busy running a business, and then starting a family, and let the little things in life kind of pass by.

As far as what I'm riding; well, I'm working on that one. I'm reworking my '96 Cannondale M300, and I'm borrowing my dad's old Fuji Espree until I can afford a new(er) road bike. Kind of thinking about buying something from bikesdirect, but I'd much rather give my money to a LBS. We have a new LBS here in Nashville that just opened up and sells used bikes. They are also only a block from my work, so I think my money is going there.

For some random tidbits:
Interests: photography, cars, make that VWs specifically, but I am a true gearhead and love them all, and of course my kids.
I'm on a lot of other forums, mainly car-related, and even help run a local one or two, and have the same user name.

That's about it, between work, the kids, the car, photography, and now bikes, I'm out of time and money I think.

Oh yeah, I plan on doing the ride "To Jack and Back" in early October. It is a 150 mile, 2 day ride that starts in Franklin, TN, goes to Lynchburg, and then back the next day.

Getting in good enough shape to do that is a primary goal of mine. I also plan to do some commuting, and just to enjoy being out on a bike again.

I actually used to live in Franklin, but am in the Sylvan Park area now. It's about 5-10 minutes outside of downtown Nashville. I love it here, it is a great neighborhood, with plenty of bike lanes and greenways close by.

My husband's great grandfather came from Franklin, so we have been there (and Nashville) several times enjoying that part of the state.

A beautiful area, we are tempted to retire there :) .
