how much do you wanna spend?

mavic xc717 or xm819 rims, hope or chris king hubs, Dt competition spokes, or if you really wanna make it light get the super comp, the aerolite or the sapim cx rays, but those spokes seem silly on a mtn bike to me, aero is for road bikes

How light is very light?

Like sub 1400g stupid light? or just regular very light.

Race ZTR 7000 or Alex XCR Scandium rims
Pillar Ti spokes
Tune/Extralite hubs

Should come out between 1100-1200g. Light enough? :p

Um, XCR rims, Tune mig and mag hubs (94g and 194g, but no disc brakes) and two Ti spokes a wheel. Should get you close, but you can't run any brakes.

Who needs brakes on a mtb anyways?


How are you going to ride it and what qualifies as light? You need tires too?
