By the way, Pcad did not get shelled today, a field finish for the #1 BF Idiot. So that didn't suck. Overall a reasonably successful Pcad Bike Race Weekend, by my admittedly pathetic, laughable and Loathable standard. Of course, that is the whole idea.

P.S. Those 35+ Idiots are fast even when they're slow.

P.P.S. I then did another 30 miles with the Nyack boys, it was 3 hours on the bike today, two at legit race pace. Great workout. I will now quaff my lunch and then slip into a Bike Weenie Coma until 3PM EDT.

And I did get to shoot the **** with Will O. and D. Freifelder in the registration line, which was Big Fun (as much fun as you can have @ 6AM in the 30º pre-dawn CP gloom).

Fridfelder is fast. Our race was slow, because I picked my nose the whole race while my team mates shut the series down. Our ex team mate scooted in for third. Rumor is we have the overall leaders jersey, though I'm not sure.

I'm in Washington square park with spawn and his cousins.

Enough random thoughts.

I like pie, but we are going to take the hottest curry challenge at brick lane curry house as seen on man versus food.

Dave Freifelder is friggin fast. He does well at Battenkill Roubaix (I think he was 2nd in the 3's last year). Nice guy. He comes out on the Hump and kills us on a regular basis.

Dave is not too fat for this sport. Trust me on this.

nice going.

And yet it's quite arguable that uttering the phrase 'It ain't hubris' is the very height of hubris.

It is of course an exquisitely paradoxical conundrum that underscores the profound complexities of the Race Weenie Mind Warp.

Regardless, gsteinb is arguably the Hardest Working Man in Bike Racing. He is lighting it up on the race course once again this season.

On to the Nationals g. If you keep winning races your sponsors have agreed to give you Blanket Immunity from Hubris for 2009.

They should give him a pony.

Some of those boys must have Lactated towards Bethel after CP. I Lactated towards Nyack. Gsteinb and the Team is making the rest of the NYC Peloton Global Lactate Intolerant. Oh well.

I would prefer to buy him these smokin' shoes.

Then he can kick ass off the bike.

You are trying to curry favor with us aren't you?

I don't know about this racing in New York stuff but that curry looks pretty damn good. Using the jalapeno as the standard is iffy as the jalapeno is not really all that but if it's 60X a jalapeno you Yankees just might have something....

There's a Farmer's Market out at the marina on Saturday mornings and a Jamaican lady that sells "Fire in the Hole" hot sauce that she also uses for her jerk chicken and it'll get you going.

Looks good.

I am slowly turning my wife into a pepper head. Last night we had a friend over for Thai scallops. Two fully ripened "habs" with all of the seeds in the curry and my wife was saying "that was kind of hot". A few years ago that would have killed her.

And a big congrats on your ride today.

No Commander, you are not too fat for this sport. Don't be so touchy.

I was very pleased that when we hit the Harlem hill today, it actually seemed to slow down and I was able to advance my position, unlike that race where I got shelled. No real problems hanging on today. But all things considered, it would be even better if we could stop for hot dogs and pretzels near the Boat House at the end of Lap Two. How lovely would that be?

I enjoy that race even as uncompetitive pack fodder, when I don't get dropped.

For some reason people seemed content to sprint against me today. That race was controlled by the team. I expect the tactics to change, and real live breakaways to happen at some point. I can't imagine folks are going to settle for 9 field sprints.

That would appear to be a poor solution to the NY 35+ Peloton's GL Problem.

We should do lunch at Steamers sometime. Get their fried rice hot, it'll burn you twice.
