We pedaled off for downtown and stopped by the Kennedy Center for performing arts. We arrived just as a string competition was beginning so we stayed for it. Afterward out on the deck we could see people on the roof of the new Swedish embassy so we pedaled over there to check it out. They had this display showing off Swedish design. The bike in the attached photos was part of the display. The Skeppshult web site doesn't show this particular model. Some people asked about locking trunks and this bike has one. The forked rack fits in the back and the trunk attaches to it. It looks like the trunk has an integrated rear light. The front rack is attached to the frame by the same mechanism as the rear trunk. What caught my eye is the double kickstand. I pushed it half way down for the photo. In the up position it looks like a regular kickstand, folded up on the left. As you push it down the two pieces come apart, one moves to the right side and the other part moves to the left so that in the down position you get a very stable two footed stand. It looks like Skeppshult has some bike distributors in the US and the prices include shipping to the 48 states so maybe this model will be available soon. It looks like a nice second bike or a good bike for a car free person who is bike-light. I don't think the bike can carry a more than 100 lbs of cargo if that, but for running errands in town it looks good. They had the thing bolted down so I couldn't test ride it. I'd like to have a stable kickstand like that for my town bike.

I believe there are several kickstand models with double legs. Here's one (http://www.biketrailershop.com/catalog/270-esge-double-kickstand-p-53.html) A bit pricey at $48, but I'm guessing it works better than the $5 single leg kickstand.

Looks like the ESGE (http://www.niagaracycle.com/product_info.php?products_id=11369) to me.

I have one on my "City Bike" well worth the money IMHO.
