Just a quick post - Had my first charity ride yesterday -of 2009 It was a cold start in the 40s and finished up in low 60s. I met someone I knew at the beginning, but we lost each other before too long and I met up with 2 really nice men, one that had been riding for 28 years. We rode together the whole way - and I tried hard no to hold anyone back. I drafted some -but even so I am very proud of the ride. My computer is broken, but my new friend told me we were at 16.6 MPH Avg at 53 miles... so I imagine I finished up at about 15MPH for the 66 miles. WOW!! My fastest speed. WE had some hills- nothing too hard. Skipped most iof the rest stops (I felt so professional :))
Anyway -though I still ahve a cold/cough - I was very happy!! My legs were hurting by the end (like good workout hurt) and still I can feel them today!
66 Miles - 15mph AVG Total Time 5 Hours. WOW!! Also wore the bike forum shirt. I am still soooo impressed that the Womens XL fits me!YAY!!! Bike shirts are made for small people- or atleast this style is.
I also pulled out a pair of pants that were a size 12 today. I am so happy to be out of the bigger sizes. Yup still a clyde by a lot of pounfs...but happy!!
