I don't know if I can do this on such short notice, but I surely categorize under slowpoke. I haven't gotten out much in the winter, and not a whole lot before winter after I got my bike. I want to do a group ride though, so we'll see if I can figure it out. I'd bring up the rear, or close to, of the group I'm sure. How often are these? I may do a few comfortable rides in my neck of the woods then come play with the slow rides :)

I'd be in! I am in Pacifica and I keep wanting to go on one of these rides (and might make this one), but factoring in the extra 2 or 3 hours or so to get there and back means it's pretty much a full day affair for me and that conflicts with all the other stuff I have to get done on the weekends. A slowpoke ride on this side of the bay would work out much better for me. Let's do it!

And Mr Vagabond, check your email. I'll be driving my truck, so you've got a ride if you need one. You'll be happy to know the windows roll down, should you need some ventilation on the ride home. :D

This sounds like a good ride and a great bunch of riders. I moved here a year ago and still haven't found a group to ride with. That may have something to do with not being on my bike, seriously, in over a year. I will pass on this one, but let me know when the next ride is. I also don't have much group riding experience, and come from Ohio where it's relatively flat. The hills around here are killing me.

Actually I can't blame it on the kids this time - I got the proverbial offer I couldn't refuse to go riding with my current and a past coach out of town. Enjoy!

Hills a problem? Get lower gears and keep after them - it'll come. (And there ain't no shame in going slow up the climbs. Lord knows I do.)

I am OUT of this ride. I worked a convention booth last week and was on my feet for two days. My lower back is still sore. Thanks for setting up this ride, Rich. I'll catch you guys next time. Have fun, ride safe.

I went out for a ride this afternoon. Four blocks later I realized that I'm not only a liability to myself, but also to others. I can hardly use my left hand to brake, thank you, cast. :( And maintaining a comfortable position with the left hand for more than 45 seconds is ridiculous -- again, thank you, cast. So I'm out for this ride, and thus will you all be safer for it. I hope you all have a good time and a fun ride.

Deb -- yeah, don't ride with a cast on. I had the same experience as you when I broke my metacarpals last year. I thought "hey I am feeling better, I really miss my bike and on the fixed gear I won't even need to brake!" It just *hurt* and I felt really silly for pulling such a stunt.
