General Cycling Discussion - What is NOS and POS?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I read lots of posts here and everyone talks about POS and NOS parts and bikes. What are you talking about?

NOS = "new old stock"
POS = "piece of sh!@"
Both could mean a lot of other things but without a way to put them in context, my guess is as good as the next.

That's the way I understand them!

Agreed. "New Old Stock" should mean old stock which is in original packaging and has never been used. This of course is not always the case.
POS could also be "point of sale" but I doubt that'd be referenced here.
