Hi, I'm looking at replacing my totaled bike, and am thinking that it might be a good time to try a folding bike.

I bike mostly for utility so to work, or to the train station (9mi to work, 1mi to the train station). So something that comes with a bike rack, and preferably an internal hub is what I'd like (my prior bike was an 8sp internal Breezer).

Initially I was looking at the Dahon Ciao P8 - but the Downtube 8H looked reasonable (and attractively cheaper).

Anybody have an opinion on the matter?

Cheers

The DT's have the edge on pricing. I just got a full suspension DT and am really digging it. It really cushions the sometimes rough DC streets. I was also surprised on how speedy it is.

I have been an admirer of the Ciao from afar (haven't test rode it, though). I like that it has a 1) lo standover height 2) trouser guard 3) IGH.

If you are going to be taking it on the train, the edge would have to go to the Ciao. The DT doesn't have such a compact fold.
