I'm mostly done with my DIY longtail... I think it turned out pretty well. Still some minor modifications (and maybe a rattlecan paintjob) left to go. Here are some pics.

Nicely done.
Superb! And it really doesn't need any more paint, the black-grey-white scheme you have going there is surprisingly coherent - it really works.

Wow! You're inspiring me to try the same thing. You didn't have to do any welding, did you?
That is some beautiful work.

Wow - and it looks like the materials will stand up well to the elements 'round here to boot! Smart!

LOOKS GREAT ! One question for you. How is the bottom bracket, of the 1/2 rear bike attached with an axle to the drop-out of the front bike? What is used for axles, bearings, shims, etc .??

Looks like there are machine screws going straight into the crank spindle - did you just re-space the frame to 110mm or so?

Yup, kitty litter buckets wrapped in duct tape. :)
Thanks for all the feedback!
The lower attachment point uses a 127.5 mm BB, some washers and 2 longer bolts for the BB spindle. The front frame wasn't re-spaced.
