Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Fixed gear riders near the beach in Jersey?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I live in a relatively old community(Lavallette) so there are lots of wrinkly guys in lycra. But im starting to think i am the only person that rides a fixed gear. All my friends ride beach cruisers, and have no care for a bike if they have there car.
Just wondering if there is anyone else here.

I have family in Lavalette but I live in New Brunswick. I see a lot of beach cruisers and mountain bikes really rusted up and locked up at the beach - more practical than a FG probably.
well... I'm in Philly... but i spend 4 to 5 days a week at the beach in the summer months... LBI mostly... Always bring my fixie... a few times we even made an event out of riding to the beach... Love riding there... but in all the rides.. I've NEVER seen another fixed rider unless he was part of my crew... LOTSA spandex and cassettes tho!

Yeah in the summer in the nice to ride here, ive never brought my bike to lbi but i know someone who rode to the end of island beach state park and swam across barnegat inlet with their bike on the back and then rode in lbi all day then returned, haha.
Anyway, the winter here sucks. Its very windy and very cold.

I spend all summer in Ocean City, it's a fixed gear dream. Nearly completely flat, and there's a 30-mile trail that goes from OC to Somer's Point to Atlantic City, where you can ride on the ridiculously lavish 5-mile boardwalk. I'm literally the only fixed rider there.

That sounds pretty awesome. Atlantic city is a funny place.
I saw one fixie here once, but no person on it.
Apparently if you dont live in a major city your destined to ride alone haha.
