A coworker wants to sell this bike. How much can he get for it?

I kinda want it too, but I dunno if I want to fork out too much money and then spend more money to fit it up. Would this bike be the kind to just clean up and leave alone gear wise or is it a meh bike and gear is not an issue.

It all depends on your intentions for the bike.

I don't think $250 is out of line asking price.

Is that a hairline crack I see on the downtube, just about at the end of the lug?

That is NOT a Super Corsa. It's a Rekord 748, just like it says it is on the top-tube.

A Rekord 748 was the mid-level race bike in '79, at least 3 down from the top which was the Super Corsa or Specialissima (I think they started calling them Super Corsa in 1980).

I've sold a perfectly rebuilt all original '80 Rekord 748 for $700. That was a bike that was completely gone through. With fresh hoods, tires, perfect original saddle, etc. A really nice example.

I'd say $200-$250 would be fair for the one you are looking at.

A Super Corsa or Specialissima in the same condition would be worth $1000-$1500.

Otis, TY.

I love BF. Ok so it is not the bike he said it was. I'll let him know so he can bring down his expectations.
