I have lost the cane! My Ortho guy approved me to ride, and no need of the cane. XRays look good, and while still a bit sore, I have full mobility!

Good luck with the recovery Tom!
Wow, I didn't even knew you got injured again. Is this the same fall that hurt your shoulder?
Heal up. Summer is coming.

No, that was last year. This year, I slipped on the ice and fell HARD!

Just like Mr. Stormcrowe to come up with something new. :)

Hey, I feel for ya. Having back pain is quite a horrible experience. I tweaked my sacroiliac joint mowing the lawn with a push mower, late last summer, and my sciatic nerve still sort of bugs me.
Time was when I would have used the winter downtime to walk for hours at a time. But, because of this pain in my back and upper leg, I could barely walk half a mile without needing to stop, rest and stretch. It has been the worst winter of my life.
The only upside (well...other than that it wasn't a disk related injury) was that I could ride my bike without any significant discomfort. If it weren't for that, I do not know what I would have done. Pain is no fun.
I hope you can avoid injury in the future.

holy hell tom, good to see you are up and around, i'd wish you luck but from what i've learn luck has only a little part in recovery, the other part is determination, i am pretty sure you have that already.
i well wish you a speedy return to the hobby/sport you grew to love.
