Coming soon: Transition is working on a 29er version of the Bottlerocket. Not a DJer but it'll boost anything :D.

SE Stout is a pretty cheap aluminum frame that is about as BMX as your gonna get with a 29er.
it was my backup bike and but has since become my main trail ride. nice handling aggressive frame.
i am 6'3" 225 and i ride the xl with 80 sh!tloads of seatpost showing and a 120mm stem.

Alum? Are you sure. I think its CroMo. I may be wrong though, but I don't think so. I do know its heavy as balls.
The B.M. Flyer may be more what you want bumknee. Its a 29r, rigid, and has more of a "DJ" geo (not really, but more slope in the TT.) The Stout is more like a very beefy traditional old school geo. The Stout is SS only as well (horizontal drop outs) the BM has vertical and a D hanger. They do use gussets on the HT to the DT for more streanght. Both very fun to ride, bu the BM Flyer is I think more what your after. SE is a Fuji brand, so any Fuji shop should be able to get them for you to try.

I had no idea 29er DJ's even existed so I Googled the bikes the other people mentioned. The Stout is indeed 100% CroMo, but the SE Big Ripper looks like it has better geometry for jumping: http://www.sebikes.com/Flyer/29-BigRipper.aspx. Can't find anything called the B.M. Flyer though (does B.M. = Blk Mrkt? Don't see a 29er on their site).

For a pump track, it would be great.
However, Dirt jumping is not a good application for a 29er. The wheels are weaker for the same spoke count and the extra fork to crown distance puts more stress on the head tube, and fork for that matter. You can beef everything up to compensate (rim strength (Kris Holm), Fork, Head tube) but then you're adding weight.
For the record, I ride a 29er for XC use. You've just hit on one area where it really doesn't make a lot of sense and the 26er really is the "sweet spot".

I think it's a bad idea and I love my 29er.
Similar reason I wouldn't want 7 inches of travel for that sort of riding too. The 29ers just don't have the same sort of pop that smaller wheels do. The taller you are the less it matters, since a 29er on a really tall guy is kind of like a smaller guy on a 26er... to an extent.

Can't beat a good Stout / BM.
They are nice. I have a BM Flyer frame I wanna build up, but for his needs, I think the Flyer is the best choice of the two. The stout is well, too stout. Nice townie, or light trail bike, but have to tried to bunny hop one, its like bunny hopping a road bike with traditional geo. It can be done, but not very well or to any height more than a few cm.
