Winter Cycling - Brooks saddle in sub zero

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Anyone use a Brooks saddle in sub zero F. temps? Any issues with it being too cold and having the leather get brittle?
Thinking about putting one on my winter commuter and was thinking it may be a problem or might be too cold on my butt compared to a foam or gel saddle..

I have never had any problems. If anything, Brookses are less cold to the butt compared to some Selle Italia carbon fibre marvels I also have. I don't think we've had sub-0-F in years, though. Close, yes.

I pulled my Brooks because it was acting as a tremendous heat sink on my butt. No concerns about the saddle itself. Much happier with a Regal.

That is kind of what I thought, I'm using a Body Geometry and the butt stays warm...

The Brooks was remarkable for it's ability to be wheeled out of the boiler room at work and in a matter of a few blocks feel like a block of ice. I considered insulating it with Reflectix but then the Regal works out of the box for me.

You must be using steel rail Brookses. Titanium rails are significantly - as in several times over - less good at moving heat away.

i rode mine (brooks pro, steel rails) all winter long here in NY, where temperatures are not as cold as my winter in Russia, but too many days of single digits temps and plenty of sub-zero days. i had no problems whatsoever. moreover, unlike my old specialized foam saddle, there was no foam to freeze up and turn into a board; my saddle was cushy enough.
but really, i never thought about my bum amidst the freeze, for the cold wind on my eyes and ice in my lungs from breathing.

I've ridden a Brooks for two winters now in Anchorage. No problems. It's a bit chilly sometimes at first, but it warms up quick.
