I have been using Google Chrome to browse Facebook with no issues for many weeks now. Yesterday, all of a sudden Chrome crashes whenever I click on anything on Facebook.

I restarted Chrome and restarted the computer, but I still crash Chrome whenever I click on absolutely anything within Facebook.

The event viewer shows nothing, and the last change I made to my computer was installing Digsby, but that was many days ago and Chrome worked with Facebook for several days after installing Digsby.

I am at a loss and I don't know what to do next in my troubleshooting. I must be the only person having this problem as all of the Chrome/Facebook forums I checked out are using Chrome/Facebook together just fine and people think I am crazy.

Any general-knowlege troubleshooting ideas? I guess I could try the new Chrome beta, but I would rather stick with the current stable release. I haven't tried reinstalling Chrome yet since the only site I have trouble with is Facebook.

So, I have been using IE7 as a fallback for now, and it's true: it is slooo-o-ow. I didn't realize how spoiled I have been with Chrome.

You could try clearing your cache. This is recommended for a few of Chrome's little problems. I don't recall off of the top of my head how to do it (it's a directory under your user profile, but I don't remember which one).

Trying searching for "chrome waiting for cache", that'll likely bring up some good hits.

I also highly recommend downloading CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com) and running that to both remove unwanted junk, as well as to clean the registry. This will remove stuff from all major Web browsers, be it cache, cookies, history, and other stuff.

CCleaner is one of the few utilities I put on a corporate system image because it does so much good.

Yes, you need a 3rd-party app to really clean out IE's cache. When you delete temporary files from the IE menu, it really just tickles the invisible bit on the cache folder and hides it from you. But all the contents are still there and can be retrieved. Unfortunately, corrupted and partially-downloaded websites will still be served up from the cache and cause problems.
