So what's the most significant change in your life since joining BF's?

Mine would have to be at work where I went from a cubicle to 4 actual walls, which came with a few extra perks. Oh yeah, and I have 3 more bikes than when I joined BF's :D

Actually I paid more attention to my "dark side" and am much more interested in off-roading - and so I'm more involved with that bike club versus my roadie/touring club - and am now getting more involved in trail advocacy (having a hell of a time with the hikers here who, at a public meeting between the city, outlying towns and the parks commission have come out verbally stated they shall not hike on a trail that may contain a mountain bicycle - even though it was the one mtb group that built - illegal until now - trails on an 83 acre parcel of land - and now they want us off ... not even share, just off) as well as trail building.

riding more.

not sure how much that is due to BF, tho.

Sound's like a nude protest ride is in order :D

That sucks! Must be a tough transition period in a person's life. The good (or bad) news is that you'll likely have grandkids staying over soon.

The good (or bad) news is that you'll likely have grandkids staying over soon.Unless you have kids like me and my wife who laugh at you when you mention anything about giving them grand kids. Nope...ain't gonna happen. And at ages 38 and 41, we aren't likely to change our minds.

So what's the most significant change in your life since joining BF's?

Since joining last summer, I've become more enthused about biking than before, though I already was a year round commuter for years and had done touring, including a cross country ride, since the 1970's. Specifically, I adopted commuting in the rain on my beater bike, which I had studiously avoided previously, and I bought studded tires for winter riding. I now have the capacity to ride nearly every day of the year.

Added more than 500 acres, 30 more employees, a few pounds. Hair longer and whiter (I am going for the Gandalf look).

I no longer will consult in software, we built a house for us (and several others for workers), bought a backhoe, 5+ vehicles, tractor, 7 sawmills, built a furniture factory...

Learned to ride a motorcycle, horses.

Learned to speak Spanish almost fluently.

Bought out our partner his shares in company.

in other words, nothing much.

Oh, our daughter got married, I guess that is different...

oh, forgot to mention that I bought A BIKE! Yeah, I started as one of those "which bike should I buy" threads in the road forum.

I feel ok about it though, considering I basically had it picked out, I was just having the 650 v 700 debate (and the WSD frilly-ass powder blue versus more cool men's version). I went with the frilly. :notamused:

Nothing changed. Since joining BF I turned down a lateral transfer (it would've been same pay, same BS, cleaner work office) just because it would've ruined my commute route and bought more bikes. I may sell one of them this week.

This is my 10th year on this site... yikes!

I grew up, moved a few times, changed jobs twice, had major chest surgery, got married, worked for myself, sold a business, made a few thousand friends around the world... I could go on.
