Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyway, my friend (VosBike) and I are interested in becoming home mechanics. We need a good book or two to help us learn about the ins and outs of every part of our bikes. A list/kit of the tools we'll need to buy to have a more or less complete set of tools would also be a big help.
Thanks guys.

With so much available online, you don't need books. However, if you insist, Zen and the Art of Bike Maintenance, and the Barnett's Manuals.
I will add that if you go to the Bicycle Mechanics thread, then you can download ALL the Barnett's Manuals for NADA!
Also, check out www.parktool.com for a good step by step to repairs with great pictures. While there you can check out some nice tools.
For my preference of tools, check out www.pedros.com
