Foo - Question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm fully aware that this isn't the right forum, but what the hell...
Why was this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=524077) closed?
Does this mean that foo will no longer tolerate images of women on bikes, or nude bike racers posing for Annie Liebowitz?
How about we start a parody thread "There is a girl in that picture". That would be more foo like.

Certainly not, but the censors obviously think so. Was Lady Chatterley's Lover pornographic? certainly not, maybe erotic but not pornographic.

1952 -- Lucy gets knocked up
Ball's pregnancy during an entire season of "I Love Lucy," the actual word "pregnant" isn't allowed on air. Instead, the show uses phrases that seem equally informative but (somehow) less fraught with sin, such as "with child," "having a baby," and "expecting."
1964-1966 -- Censors throw down in navel wars
Mary Ann from "Gilligan's Island," Jeannie from "I Dream of Jeannie," and "Gidget" are all barred from baring their navels. Actress Mariette Hartley receives the same treatment in a 1966 episode of "Star Trek," but the show's director, Gene Roddenberry, gets his revenge in 1973. He recasts Ms. Hartley in the pilot for his new show, "Genesis II," and gives her two belly buttons.

Clearly bf is a theocracy. images of attractive women riding bicycles are inappropriate since they might incite lustful thoughts in men. the solution is for all female bicyclists to wear burkas.

No.
I'm not sure if this was answered, but empirically, threads regarding "women on bikes" become a pain in the neck for moderation later on. Closing that thread was a precautionary measure. Additionally, quite a few people had issues with it.

With all due respect, intel pointed to yellowcake that was being peddled by posters to that thread.
Sat intel and someone's brother's uncle, also indicated that the OP of that thread once "gave a mod the stink eye".
Unilateral action taken on behalf of the Foo plebes was warranted.
Now, unless you want to be shipped to FooTMO.
You'll shut yer cakehole.

you have a point.
the styling is shyte, but if the mods locked every thread with bad photography, 93% of bf threads with pics would be locked.

I don't understand the distinction.
The .com, .info, .name, .net, and .org TLDs are open and unrestricted. (http://www.internic.net/faqs/domain-names.html)

So no mods and/or admins can answer the initial post's question or at least chime in to say it's being investigated?
Joe tried to buy the domain name Bikeforums.com (from Hunter? I don't remember it was before I showed up here) it was already owned by someone else. He registered Bikeforums.net and later got the bikeforums.com name also.
I'll see if we can get him to clarify the distinction.
Botto, I'm surprized you remember that I thought you joined after all of that.

Without going into the internal workings/debates/arguments of Bikeforums I can say that
it is being discussed amongst the mods and admins. Other than that it would be premature
for me to comment further and, for the moment not my place to do so.
