Hi,
I'm putting together a Fondriest aluminum cross bike and only now -- as I started trying to hook up a Dura-Ace front derailleur I had -- did I notice that I simply couldn't get the thing to work right. The cable routes along the top tube and then down the seat tube. After puzzling over angles and generally being confused, it slowly dawned on me that, geez, maybe this just wasn't meant to work.
I didn't know there were top- and bottom-pull front derailleurs. Now I know. What I'd like to know is, does anyone know of any sort of problem-solver part that would allow me to use my bottom-pull with the current cable routing? I'm thinking of some sort of frame clamp that would have a semi-circular cable guide around which the cable would wrap and then attach to the derailleur from below.
TIA.
