Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey there,
I live in Chambery (France) and I am planning to cycle through the french Alps next july.
5/6 days ride through the most famous climbs in the area (Col de la Colombiere, Aravis, Saisies, Iseran, Galibier, Alpe d'Huez, Izoard, Bonnette...).
If by any chance, someone is around this summer, and keen to cycle as well, do not hesitate to let me know !! You are welcome.

I like cycling in the French Alps, but I doubt I can get there in July this year. There's one major pass I have not ridden (not far from Chambery): Col de la Madeleine, and I might try riding it in the second half of May, if you might be free on a mid-week day around then. (I was just skiing on the Madeleine road last week, so I hope they plow the snow off it by the middle of May)
Here's some of my notes about riding (http://www.roberts-1.com/b/e/f/index.htm) the high cols of France, which ones I liked or didn't, etc.But what I like even more than riding over most of the famous passes of the French Alps is . . .
cycling in the valley and foothills around Chambery.
