Fifty Plus (50+) - Celebrities with their bikes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I stumbled onto this and found it to be somewhat amusing, although I don't know whether to be concerned or relieved that I only recognize about a third of these people.

I only recognised one of them. But then I was looking more at the bikes they ride than them.
I'm over 50, way over. Bette Davis I would have recognized.

Of all the women, Goldie appeared to more into riding.

OK, this is cool - prosthetic leg but the cable routing is horrible.

It's just good that they did it. If people see celebrities on bike, it will make them more likely to dig their own out of the garage and go riding. 55 pics, not bad.
How come Jerry Seinfeld wasn't riding that green Klein that always hung on his wall in the show. ;)
Well, after looking at all 55 photos, I'm not ever going to worry about how I look on a bike.

I knew Patrick Dempsey, Robin Williams and Jake Gyllenhaal were serious cyclists... I recognized quite a few of the "celebrities". I love the fact most are riding sans helmet, including our governator. Tisk Tisk Arnie, what kind of example is that?

^^ironically enough, I think the right example. Do not avoid getting on a bike simply because you have no helmet.
Robin Williams' Colnago was pimpin'

What a Fred and Wilma looking bunch! Very comforting to know...
Yep, a motley bunch they are...
Patrick Dempsey's got it down, though, kudos to him. Someone should tell these guys the temples go over the straps, though...

Judging by the way he has his current ride locked, it was probably stolen. Nice Fahgettaboudit U-lock, locked to the seatpost? Yikes!

Hi,
Yeah, the first photo of Patrick Dempsey shows him wearing a Cynergy kit which is a local (SoCal) racing team. I know some people who have ridden with him. I never see any celebrities in my part of town.
Great photo series -- thanks for sharing.

Not only that, Arnold takes drinking and riding (http://www.headlineshirts.net/california-flag.html) very lightly...:D

And I don't think locking his bike by the seat post is the most efficient and safe use of that kryptonite lock.

Arnold without a helmet. Arnold & drinking, etc.
Arnold was riding a motorcycle in a motorcycle accident WITH NO motorcycle license. How's that for an example.

Who are all those "celebrities" that I'd never heard of? And what are they celebrated for?

The Paris Hilton looks odd. She's wearing heels and just holding the bike.

That's kind of how she acts, too. She wears heels and just sort of says the lines.

I like Robin Williams' Colnago (what appears to be on my old monitor) Master Lite. Otherwise, all the young chicks seem interchangeable and the guys mostly unknown to me. Noticed that the Governator is riding clips. Otherwise, an unimpressive bunch. Velodiva rides faster, most of us probably ride farther, and I will probably never make the Celebrity Cyclist's list. Damn.
did you see Seinfelds lock job? He has a kyptonite New York around the seat post and locked to a iron fence :) That bike is gone in 2 seconds......unless he just did the shot like that for the photo. I cant tell if some of them are posed / arranged shots or more candids of the stars in public just riding around. Horrible lock job though...heheh
ah and did you see Robin Williams Colnago? was it me or did that look a bit large for him?
cranky old dude

I always assumed that Klein was just a "Product Placement" type of advertising by Klein and Seinfeld never really owned it. Judging from your smilie I'm guessing you did too.
