Road Cycling - How many pair of gloves do you own?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. It's my first year of cycling. I'm riding about four days a week, sometimes five, other times two or three. If I'm out for a long ride on Saturday, my gloves can still be a bit sweaty on Sunday. Not that I'm looking to buy another pair, but how many pairs of gloves do you have?

I own two pair. One short finger for spring and summer and one long for winter. I have yet to wear out a pair of long fingers. I wear the short fingers until they disolve.

2pair. One short, one full finger.
4 pair.
1 full fingered for winter rides
1 pair Garneau Ergo-Air that I hate and don't wear (uncomfortable seam)
2 pair of P.I. white lines which I switch out to avoid them getting overly
sweaty on consecutive days.
And I want a pair of those retrogrouch crochet leather palmed gloves just because.

I have one pair. I don't really give a sh*t if they get stinky - my main concern is just them wearing out. When they die, I get another pair. Maybe some day when I have money (and what a grand day that will be) I'll get a second pair.
4 pair.
1 full and 1 short that I use all the time. 1 other older short pair that I keep as backup, plus 1 other BRAND STINKING NEW & EXPENSIVE short pair that my wife mistakenly tossed out (we think) that I know I will eventually find along with my original wedding ring, my old baseball cards and various other things of value that have mysteriously disappeared in the last 30 years.

3. 1 Long fingered pair of Descente that ripped the first time I took them off. Good job I can sew. 2 pairs of Performance somethingorothers that were on sale and have proved to be excellent.
4: liners for cool days, full-finger XC skiing gloves for cold days, reflective gloves for night riding, and regular half-finger PI bike gloves.
3 pairs. Cannondale liner, cannondale glove (used in combination, or separately), and my favorite Castelli Retro gloves (SUPER COMFORTABLE).

Ditto. My short pair have over 20,000 miles on them! When they get real dirty I soak them in the sink, rinse and hang dry and they're ready for another couple of hundred miles. The tops of them are begining to wear pretty thin. It won't be long (I think) and I'll be looking for a new pair...darn, I just got these broke in! :p

None here (during summer; I wear winter gloves when it's under 5 Celcius). Never had any problems, even on long rides. Do you really need them ;)
4 I long 3 short. 1 short is new, the others are 4+ years old. My hands go numb on long rides so I like gloves.

I own two pair for the summer time. When I do laundry I just throw them in the wash with the dark clothes and hang them to dry. Going on 5 years for one of the pairs and they still feel good.
4 pairs of actual cycling gloves
3 pairs full fingered winter gloves (ski gloves)
. . . Do you really need them
Only when you go down and skid on your palms leaving a 5 foot trail of
skin and blood on the tarmac.

None.
2 bad crashed to my record with no hand damage, but I could see how they might help in the right (or worng) crash.
4 pair 2 long finger and 2 shorties

i have winter gloves that i wear (not really cycling gloves) and go naked in the summer. the only reason to wear them is if you ever crash, your hand will bear the brunt of your fall....

Anybody use Hincapie gloves? They apparently have padding on the palm and between the thumb and index finger, right where your hand rests on the brake hood. Seems like an excellent idea.
But, do they work, easing stress on your hands?
Oh, yeah, I have two pair, one short finger one long finger. When the short finger ones, Trek Moby Gels, get too stinky, I toss them in the washer.

I use my MTB gloves for road riding. I'd rather not have finger tan lines. Tactile feel is not an issue for me.

I have:
1. Lobster Claws for really cold weather
2. Long finger gloves (liners actually) These can be worn inside the claws, by themselves, or under regular cycling gloves
3. Short fingered gloves with lots of padding
4. Short fingered gloves with minimal padding

2 1/2
One pair of Garneau Lobsters.
One pair of full fingers for the Spring.
...and I'm still trying to find the left hand glove of my Netti 1/2 fingers with gel inserts, but since I put the new tape on I've done three hour rides with no pain in the palms...
At least now my cycling tan is limited to the short sleeve, thigh shorts and ankle sock lines.

2 pair. Both identical. Leather with some padding (no gel) and mesh backs. I cut the straps off of them too.

2 pair. 1 long finger pair from performance and 1 short finger Bell with crocheted back. Don't see the need for any more, but that's just me. :)

4 pair short. Currently wash about once a week in the machine. Once sweat season gets here, they get hand washed after every ride. They stink, and when I wipe my face, my face stinks, and I have to breathe it, so they get washed.

2 pair, both full-fingered and kevlar palmed. In addition to crash protection, they keep my hands from callousing(sp).
