Commuting - Shower with your bike in a small city apartment.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I think I found a new way to clean up your bike. Just take it into the shower/tub with you and rinse it off, make sure you take a wet bounty with soap to scrub off the brake dust and grease. You can't go wrong if you have a supernatural ability to profusely apologize to loved ones.

I'm not sure, I mean people ride in the rain right? I adjust the shower head so it's a really soft stream plus I stay away from the BB and hub bearings.
Its fine... just low pressure... your drain will hate you though.
i recomended that a while back on another thread... no one listened.

Wow...Don't slip and get caught up in the gears.Permament tattos... Guess shampoos are mild enough for the paint job.
Probably prefered means of drying is not with best towels, maybe a blow dryer would be too rough on the bottom bracket since it might impact water.Don't get mixed up and use chain cleaners on your hair, please.
I have washed parts in the tub, but never considered the whole bike. I might have to try sometime.
I always liked the self serve car washes. 30 seconds and you're done.

When I was in the dorm I did that for my mountain bike when it got all dirty. Works great, but people gave me a few odd looks.

To beg the question...Do not hardwares sell hoses throughout all the country..
Faucets aren't easy to come by in a small city apartment.

.... what?
personally, I don't wash my bike at all. i clean the moving parts, yes, but wash the whole thing? too much bother, not enough benefit.

The paint job on my Klein..A work of art.. Ivory on white..Take great pride in its looks...I try to wash it once a month at least..Not only that, about every second wash it gets waxed.

every two weeks....10% isopropyl alcohol/ 90% water as cleaner....pure alcohol for drivetrain, and many many paper towels. I use about 5-6 paper towles for the frame and rims, but use about 30 for the drivetrain (drivetrain only gets done every two months).
Takes little room, and gives a great cleaning to it. Bonus is the alcohol evaportes in minutes too.
