Hey, everyone.
So I'm trying to change a few things in my eating routine. Here are two changes I've been experimenting lately:
- Two bowls of cereal every night --> four Club crackers (1 serving).
- Sandwich with turkey or tuna and cheese (lunch) --> Chicken noodle soup with whole grain bread.
I also now eat an apple and a banana every day, plus some veggies for dinner, if I get the chance.
I made these switches mostly because
A) They are both much cheaper, and
B) I felt that a bowl of cereal every night was kind of much.
What do you guys think? I've tried eating turkey late nights, but that wasn't enough for me. I don't want to eat salad twice, and didn't know of a smaller option for lunch that was just as filling.
Thanks!
Read and study ...

Looks like I'm pretty consistent, BUT three pointers:
1. French fries define me. I eat them maybe once a week. (I prefer that they are baked, though.)
2. I eat frozen yogurt now when I want ice cream (maybe every other weekend). Unless it's "frozen yogurt" (i.e. ice cream with 10% culture), I think it's a good option. Not mentioned.
3. I'm going to try graham crackers instead of club crackers; they are very good. The club crackers were what was there, though.
What about .... more fruits and veggies?
You could easily go with 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetable per day.

And here's what the Canadian Food Guide says about a serving:
"A medium fruit or half a cup of fresh, frozen or canned vegetables is all it takes to make up one Food Guide Serving. Look at the list below to get more vegetable and fruit ideas and more examples of Food Guide Servings."

Mix it up a bit too ... apples and bananas are great ... so are oranges and pears and kiwis and pineapples and melons and ............
And what about nuts rather than crackers? Nuts will give you a lot more vitamins and minerals, as well as protein rather than starch.

At night-time? I thought that was a bad idea at that time. I'm talking about something that eliminates that hunger 5-minutes before bedtime feeling.

Go with a couple pieces of fruit ... a few whole wheat crackers with cheese ... a handful of nuts .... rice cakes ...
Change it up each day, don't always have the same thing.

Rice cakes are good. I'm wish I remembered to get some graham crackers today; would've gone pretty good with my celery.
